We Are CCA

Discover what we can do together

Learning Begins With Us

Classical Christian Academy is an innovative, PK-12, private school.

Since 2004, our Hybrid program has provided the best of both learning environments, combining the benefits of home education and classical, Christian education. We have proudly partnered with families to provide excellence in classical, Christian education to our students for more than 20 years.

CCA is accredited by Cognia, FCCPSA, and NCPSA, which means our curriculum and policies are overseen and approved by national and local agencies.

The average of our staff’s tenure is more than 6 years. Every staff member with school-aged students has chosen CCA as their place of work and their child’s school home!

We dive deep with our students to fill their minds with more than facts–developing a student’s ability to think, reason, read, write and speak well. Discover how Classical Christian Academy develops students who love to learn, parents who are in partnership with teachers, and an education that is foundationally taught from a Biblical worldview.

A Classical Curriculum Overview

Classical Christian Academy offers a variety of curriculum to keep our students engaged, and prepare them with a Biblical worldview to go into the world and live out their convictions.

Explore the unique stages of a Classical education, and what you can expect your child to learn through each one.

Pre-Grammar

For Pre-K and Kindergarten students, our goal at CCA is to foster a sense of curiosity and guide each child as they discover more about God’s world.

Using songs, stories, and projects, we seek to engage students in all aspects of learning.

Our teachers instruct our students with numerous multi-sensory and hands-on learning activities that are both memorable and fun.

Along with traditional academics, our teachers actively work with students in this development stage as they build a foundation for future learning.

Grammar

Our Lower school consists of Kindergarten through 6th graders. Students of this age are in the grammar stage of Classical learning.

These students love to acquire knowledge. Learning by heart is easy at this stage, and engaging for the learner. At this stage, students enjoy chants, songs and rhymes that help them learn new topics. Our teachers select curriculum that is not only memorable but builds a foundation for student learning.

Along with traditional academics, our teachers serve with you as spiritual guides for your student. Not only in our Bible classes, but in every subject, our teachers point out how Christ reigns in all aspects of our lives. In addition to teaching gospel truths, we seek to promote Christ-like characteristics in our students.

NOTE: Based on traditional Classical learning structure, 5th and 6th grade students are transitioning from the grammar stage to the logic stage.

At CCA, we have found that these early Logic learners do well in this transition stage when they use familiar curriculum in math, science and language arts. As these students grow in their independence, they still have the consistency of the grammar stage as a bridge to middle school.

Logic

Working with the natural bent of our 7th and 8th grade students, we apply Classical pedagogy in the classroom in several ways.

Logic-stage learners are naturally interested in challenging ideas, arguing, and understanding the relationship between ideas or topics.

With this in mind, we aim to help our students learn how to think as they study informal and formal Logic, engage in various classroom discussions of literature, language, grammar and history, explore the world God made through science, and develop more complex problem solving skills in mathematics. In each context, the consistent foundation is a biblical worldview as teachers instruct with the understanding that all knowledge is God’s knowledge.

Finally, we are an academy. An institution of education and learning. We want nothing more than to see our students flourishing in their knowledge of the Lord and in scholarly learning as well.

Rhetoric

Rhetoric-stage learners (9th - 12th graders) are naturally interested in how they are perceived by others and desire to be articulate, persuasive, and winsome. Working with that natural bent, we aim to help our students communicate well.

They will engage in various classroom discussions of literature, language, grammar, and history; they will explore the world God made through science; and they will develop more complex problem-solving skills in mathematics.

Frequent opportunities for class presentation along with a study of Rhetoric (effective, persuasive argumentation) develop and refine our students’ communication skills. In each classroom, the consistent foundation for learning is a Biblical worldview as teachers instruct with the understanding that all knowledge is God’s knowledge.

Finally, we are an academy. An institution of education and learning. We want nothing more than to see our students flourishing in their knowledge of the Lord and in scholarly learning as well.
