THE FLEX PROGRAM
Classical Christian Academy’s Flex Program takes its core Hybrid Program and adds a layer of flexibility sought by some 7th-12th grade students. This university model does several things:
Allows CCA families an additional layer of flexibility to work around dual-enrollment coursework; work, internship or travel sport schedules, or other schedule demands.
Opens our classrooms to homeschoolers who wish to take high-level courses.
Makes testing and guidance counseling services available to homeschool families.
Creates opportunities for student athletes to receive a Classical, Christian education while playing sports at other schools.
We are a covenant community. Every family at CCA is involved in their church and professes belief in Jesus as their personal savior. This is different than every other school in our county. It does not mean we're perfect. But, our shared faith helps us make decisions based on the spiritual and philosophical congruity represented in our faith, our families and our educational choices.
We set aside time on the first Friday of every month for chapel. It is a time for us to worship together and learn as a community of believers.
We believe the most effective way to create both an academically challenging and Christ-centered school is through the method known as the classical approach to education. This approach systematically uses the natural development of the child's mind to introduce information, teach them to think through and critically examine information, and express themselves and their own unique ideas.
Classical schools were the norm until the industrial revolution in the early 1900s. The proven methods were used to train some of the greatest minds our world has ever known.
CCA's Flex Program offers a great deal of flexibility for families. The first choice is to either be a CCA student, or a student who is registered as a homeschooler or with another private school.
Second, you choose your courses. Students enrolled at CCA may choose to take no classes with us and exclusively homeschool, or take on-campus, Livestream, and/or dual-enrollment classes, or combine options to fit their needs. Non-CCA students are invited to take on-campus or Livestream classes as guests of the school.
Third, non-CCA students may choose educational services. (These are included for all CCA students.) We offer guidance counseling to help with graduation and college preparedness. We also offer standardized tests: the Stanford 10 test through 10th grade, and the PSAT for 9th, 10th, and 11th grades.
You choose what works best for your student and budget.
9th - 12th grade students in our Flex Program may choose the courses they take at CCA. They may take classes on campus, or join a class via Zoom.
Students take on-level math and language arts courses. Other classes may be offered on a rotation in order to meet graduation requirements.
Our students benefit from intentionally small class sizes, and an individual approach to education. Students are placed in on-level math and English classes. This means each student is appropriately challenged.
Because of CCA's blend in-class and at-home learning, students have the ability to spend extra time practicing skills, or they can work quickly through areas they've already mastered. Students are also able to more deeply explore subjects of particular interest.
Relationships are important, and our students enjoy participating during in-class discussions and interacting with friends during breaks.
Our students also enjoy building relationships with friends through various events and activities.
