HISTORY DAY

Bringing History to Life

Every spring, our entire community unites for one of our most anticipated school events, History Day. This fun, interactive experience brings classroom learning to life.

HANDS ON LEARNING

WHAT IS HISTORY DAY?

Every year, CCA parents and staff work together to create a hands-on learning experience for our students. History Day themes are chosen each year in alignment with the time period our lower school students are studying. Each year, we set up booths in our auditorium. Students rotate through each booth throughout History Day. Each booth combines age-appropriate lessons and hands-on activities to make learning fun.

WHEN IS HISTORY DAY?

History Day usually takes place every February. The day before the event is our mandatory set up day. There are no classes or electives on History Day. We have lunch as a community after the event is over.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

Once you know the theme, we recommend parents begin working on their costumes. Parents, students, and staff all dress in the time period we are recreating.
Every family at CCA volunteers to help make History Day possible. The History Day Committee will assign parents rolls to help create booths where the experiences take place. This happens through your assigned House. Check with your House Leaders to see how you can help. At the end of the event, all families are expected to help tear down the booths and clean up the school.
