SCHOOL PORTRAITS RETAKE DAY 
October 20th is school portrait retake day.  If you indicated on the previously posted form that you want to retake your picture or that you were absent, you may come to school in your Sunday’s best.  If you have any questions, please contact Rebecca Moldovan at rmoldovan@discovercca.org

SPELLING BEE 

Spelling lists were sent home to students in 3rd grade-12th grade.    Spelling Bees will take place by grade level on Friday, October 6th.  Top placing students will be invited to participate in the regional bee on October 27th at Spring Hill Christian School in Spring Hill, Florida. 


UPPER SCHOOL NIGHT OUT  
Students in 7th-12th grade can join us on Friday, October 6th from 6:30-9:30 pm at HeadPinz (14513 Global Pkwy, Ft Myers) for an Upper School night out. 
Bowling $57.00 per lane for 1.5 hrs. 6 people per lane; shoes $5.00; laser tag $8.50 per player for 1 round; video games and food are also available for purchase. No sign up needed. Students will pay on-site. 


ELECTIVE TEACHERS NEEDED FOR 2ND SEMESTER

DONUTS WITH DAD 

All dads of students in KP-6th are invited to join us on Monday, October 9th at 8:30 for Donuts with Dad.  We want to celebrate all dads with a breakfast treat and a special time with their students.  


1st QUARTER SPIRIT DAY 

The last day of each quarter is an all-school Spirit Day organized by the House Council.  This is a great way to earn house points! Oct. 11 Spirit Day will be Sidekick Day! Think: Batman/Robin; Watson/Sherlock; Mario/Luigi or any other duo! Start planning your costume and sidekick!   


HIGH SCHOOL HELP NEEDED 

Faith Assembly is looking for high school volunteers to provide childcare for a church dinner on Sunday, October 15, 4:30-7:30 p.m. If you are available to help, please contact Christi Cecil by Friday, September 29. Volunteers will be given community service hours.

20TH ANNIVERSARY FALL FESTIVAL! 

CCA is turning 20 this year, and we want YOU to celebrate with us! 

Please save the date for a fall festival celebration on Friday, November 3rd, immediately following 3:30 dismissal. Food trucks, bounce houses, a petting zoo, a photo booth, games, and more will be just outside on the school’s lawn for your family’s enjoyment! We can’t wait to celebrate with you! 


MS BASKETBALL COACH NEEDED 

Do you have a passion for basketball and are you looking for a great way to serve our CCA community? We are looking for a middle school basketball coach for this season. Games will run from mid-November through the end of January. Please e-mail CCA Athletics for more information or to find out how to get involved at gomavericks@discovercca.org  


SAVE THE DATE-COFFEE AND CONVERSATION 

Back by parent and staff request-Michael Phillips will share Part 2 of his discussion on helping us have a right perspective and response to the external world. Mr. Phillips was our Parent Meeting speaker last November. Open to all CCA families, staff, and high school students. Wednesday, October 18th at 2:30 pm.

OCTOBER BEFORE SCHOOL CARE 

The deadline for Before School Care is October 1, sign up by using: https://fs19.formsite.com/discovercca/October-Before-Care/index.  

The cost for October is $42.00. *6th-12th grade students can be dropped off as early as 7:15 am. *PK – 5th grade students can be dropped off as early as 8:00 am. If you have a student in both upper and lower school, you can drop students off at upper school time 7:15 am. MS BASKETBALL SIGN-UPS ARE OPEN 

Sign up by October 8 for our middle school basketball team! The team is co-ed, and open to grades 5th-8th. Team and practices will begin mid-October with games running from mid-November through the end of January. ST AUGUSTINE FIELD TRIP 

November 14 is the deadline to sign up with American Christian Tours for our field trip to St. Augustine and Kennedy Space Center from March 21-23.  Students in KP-12 and their families are welcome!  We will be traveling together and visiting several sites including Castilla de San Marcos, The Great Cross, touring the town with Old Town Trolley, the Old FL Agriculture Museum, and ending the trip at Kennedy Space Center. Students in 6th grade and up can go on the trip without a parent. We will have assigned chaperones to watch over the group. Students in KP-5th must have a parent or adult with them for the trip. Due to the cost and nature of the trip, we are offering another option for our families. We have a reservation for a field trip to Kennedy Space Center on Saturday, March 23rd. The cost would be $24 for students and $76 for parents. For this trip, you would provide your own food and transportation. Sign-ups for the Saturday-only trip will be released later.
