READ-A-THON
A huge THANK YOU to each and every one of you for participating in CCA’s first ever Read for Roots Read-a-Thon! Because of you, it was an enormous success, and we are moving closer to breaking ground for the building of CCA’s permanent home.
Some exciting stats:
– Together, our students read a total of 59,235 minutes
– Students raised a total of $26,164
– Including our generous $12k match, the total raised for this year’s read-a-thon is $38,164
This goes to show that no matter the amount, big or small, your donation matters when we work together as a community!
2nd QUARTER SPIRIT DAYS
We have two exciting spirit days this coming week. Wednesday, December 17th is Red-vs. Green. Dress up or down in your favorite red and green Christmas attire. Friday, December 19th is Crazy Christmas PJ Day. Both spirit days are all school, and house points will be awarded. Uniform required if your student is not participating.
ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PROGRAM
Join us on Wednesday, December 17th at 2:30 pm for CCA’s annual Christmas program! All Upper school students will perform their Morning Assembly recitation. Select electives from Lower and Upper school will also be performing: Performances by Lower School Classes, Ensemble, Ninja Kids, Violin, Ballet, all Upper School Students; Table Displays by STEM, and Once Upon a Craft.

CCA T-SHIRT SALE AT CHRISTMAS PROGRAM
CCA t-shirts from current and past years will be sold at the Christmas Program. They make a great gift for grandparents and family members! Current year t-shirts will be sold for $15 and past year t-shirts will be sold for $5. Cash (in exact change only), check, or PayPal will be accepted. Sizes and styles are limited!
UPPER SCHOOL SCHEDULE AND ALL SCHOOL NOON DISMISSAL
Friday, December 19th is a 12:00 Dismissal for both upper and lower school. Upper School will begin at 9am (not 8:30) and there will be no regular classes. We will be celebrating the Christmas season together with various games and activities. Upper school students should bring a gift to exchange (a separate email was sent). Merry Christmas!
SECOND SEMESTER ELECTIVES
Electives for the second semester have been added to Jupiter for you to see in which electives your students have been placed! If your 7th-12th grade student is in one of the following classes, they are required to wear the CCA PE uniform from All Uniform Wear (https://www.discovercca.org/schoolstore/): Self Defense, 7th Grade PE, Personal Fitness, Basketball. CHRISTMAS SEMI-FORMAL DANCE
8th – 12th grade students are invited to attend the Christmas semi-formal on Friday, December 19th at Moody River Clubhouse. There will be Christmas snacks, games, and dancing. Deadline to sign up is December 14th.

CRATE CLEANING
Throughout the year many students start to collect a whole assortment of trash, old papers, dirty clothes and snack wrappers at the bottom of the crates. Christmas break is a good time to do a thorough cleaning of your student’s crates.
HIGH SCHOOL 101 GUIDANCE MEETING
It’s that time! Rising 9th grade parents and students, don’t forget to RSVP for your High School 101 Guidance Meeting on Thursday, January 8. Please see Mrs. Prechtel’s 12/10 email for details. This is a required meeting.
