HOME EXPLORATION/HOME EDUCATION DAY
Monday, January 19 is a Home Exploration Day for the lower school and families will come up with their own educational plan for the day or take an absence. Please complete the Home Exploration Day form by Wednesday, January 21 or your student will be marked absent. https://www.discovercca.org/handbooks-forms/ Upper School will have a home education day with lesson plans to complete.
2026-27 SCHOOL YEAR CALENDARS
The Board of Directors has approved the calendars for next school year! There are separate calendars for the 2-day and 3-day track. Please note that while most dates, such as the start of school and breaks, will not change, some dates are subject to change. You will also notice that school begins on August 11th, which is a Home Education Day for the 3-Day track. This will be a day utilized to prepare for the school year with lesson plans from the teacher to introduce curriculum and preparations for the year. CREATIVE WRITING FESTIVAL
Calling all aspiring authors! CCA will be competing in the FACCS Conference Creative Writing Festival again this year. The entry fee is $16 and must be paid using the link below by January 19. SOCCER SIGN-UPS ARE NOW OPEN
Sign-ups are now open for all soccer programs from bittyball minis (K-2nd) and mighties (3rd to 5th) through MS soccer (5th to 8th).. Practices will begin the second week of February and the season will end in April. Please sign-up by February 1st! PARENT MEETING
Join us on Tuesday, January 27 for the last parent meeting of the school year. This mandatory parent meeting will be held at Northside Baptist Church from 5:45pm to 8:00pm. It will be an important meeting as we prepare for our annual History Day and discuss plans for next school year. As with all parent meetings, this meeting is for parents only. Please make other arrangements for your children.

ROLLING BACKPACKS
You may have read in Mrs. Loerzel’s email at the beginning of the year that we will be utilizing rolling backpacks, rather than crates, starting in the fall semester of 2026. We have two rolling backpacks in the office, in case you’d like to view some examples, and we will have them available at the parent meeting for you to see, as well. SCHOOL WIDE PICTURE- EARLY ARRIVAL
Wednesday, February 4, is our school-wide photo. Students should wear their school uniform. Upper school students need to arrive by 8:10 and lower school students by 8:15. This will give us time to take the pictures without interfering with the school day.
PEP NEW AND RENEWAL APPLICATIONS
New and renewal applications for the PEP scholarship for the 2026-27 school year open on February 1st. The deadline to submit for the PEP application is April 30th. You do not have to submit your norm reference testing until the spring. If your student is in K-2nd grade, we will be sending you more information about administering testing at home. Testing for all other grades is completed on campus like usual.
CONTINUOUS ENROLLMENT
Sunday, February 15, is the deadline to notify CCA in writing of any enrollment changes for the upcoming school year. To make a change, you can email Shawna Ritter at sritter@discovercca.org or meet with an administrator.
You will be notified ASAP if there is room for your new, additional student(s). Returning families will receive priority placement in our Wait Pool if necessary. On February 16, currently enrolled families become financially responsible for the 2026-2027 school year, and pay a deposit of $175 per student.
