Small Things are Adding Up

Since launching its “Small Things” giving campaign on October 1, 2020, Classical Christian Academy reached 40% participation among its CCA families. The "Small Things" goal isn’t based on a specific dollar amount. Instead, the school wants 100% CCA participation from its students, staff and Board of Directors.

“It’s important that we have 100% participation from our community," explained Amy Davis, founder and principal of CCA. "Together we can meet our goal as we continue our mission. There are so many ways and levels for our community to get involved in this fun campaign and to support the school they love!”

The "Small Things" referenced in the campaign are ways the school’s community can support the school. They include:

  • Amazon Smile: After setting up a free account, Amazon makes a .05% donation of every purchase.

  • Shop With Scrip: Purchase gift cards at face value and a percentage is donated to CCA.

  • Box Tops for Education: Designate CCA as your school, then scan grocery receipts through the new Box Top app

  • Staples: Provide the school phone number at checkout to give CCA your reward points.

  • Staples Ink: Turn in empty ink cartridges to CCA for recycling. We take them to Stapleas and earn $2 - $5 for each one.

  • Cash Donations: Donations of any amount can be made via PayPal, or checks made out to Classical Christian Academy, or in giving envelopes a the front desk. Donations can be anonymous upon request, and are tax deductible, since CCA is a 501 c(3).

  • Referrals: CCA appreciates help connecting with private or corporate donors who wish to support Christian education.

As CCA families prove they participate in at least one free fundraiser, their name is added to a Candy Land® theme game board. When a special space is reached, every name on the board is entered into a drawing for that prize. So far, there have been two prize drawings. The first was for a Dress Down Pass for students, and the second is for a Red Box movie rental gift card.

“I’m thrilled to see the engagement of our school families,” beamed Nicole McCard, director of development. “The people in our community make CCA a really special place. They’re already involved. It’s special to see them step up and want to give more of their time, energy and even monetarily.

CCA is also trying to meet a $20,000 donation match and announced it will thank a total of five donors who give $1,000 or more before November 30, 2020, with a four-pack of Disney One-Day Park Hopper tickets. With two recent donations, there are just three ticket packets remaining.
