Small Things are the Sweetest

Updated: Oct 16, 2020

Classical Christian Academy is excited to launch its “Small Things” campaign to raise awareness of the many small ways its community can help raise funds for the school.

“We want all of our families to recognize – collectively – a little effort can make a big impact for our school,” explained Nicole McCard, development director for CCA. “We started thinking about all of the ways our community can help us fundraise. Many of the methods are small things that require only a little bit of effort. And with that, our campaign was born!”

The school set up a Candy Land(R)-inspired theme and has a goal of 100% CCA-family participation. Each family is encouraged to get involved with all of the programs, but with proof of involvement in just one, the family name will be written on a game-board space. There will be prize drawings as the spaces on the gameboard fill with participants’ names. The earlier a family participates, the more prizes each family will be entered to win.

“We want everyone at Classical Christian Academy to know there is a space for them here,” added McCard.

CCA families can do any – or all – of the following “Small Things” to participate in the prize drawings. Other supporters in our community are encouraged to participate but are not eligible to win prizes.

AMAZON SMILE

When a family signs up for a free Amazon Smile account, Amazon will make a .05% donation to the designated charity. When a family logs in to the webpage or app, donations are automatically made. There are no additional costs and the purchase prices are the same. It’s FREE to use!

SHOP WITH SCRIP

Shop With Scrip and it’s Raise Right app, bring gift-cards into the fundraising game. When a family sets up an account, a portion of every gift card purchase is given to CCA. CCA families can buy gift cards as gifts, or for their own use.

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION

Box Tops has been a long-time supporter of education. Families download the app. When they set up their account, they designate Classical Christian Academy in North Fort Myers as their school. Then, they take a picture of a store receipt and the app does the rest. The Box Tops app is available on mobile for iOS and Android in the Google Play and App Stores.

INK CARTRIDGES

CCA returns used ink cartridges for recycling and earns $2-$5 store credit for each one. The school uses this money to help off-set the purchase price of markers, paper, classroom and office supplies. Families and local businesses are invited to recycle and give ink cartridges by dropping them off at the front desk of the school on M/W/F.

DONATIONS

In fundraising efforts, cash donations are always appreciated – in any amount. Just as the Bible teaches with the story of the widow’s offering of two small coins; we see the hearts of our supporters in every gift.

CCA is simultaneously trying to meet a $20,000 donation match. With less than $5,000 to go, the school is giving a four-pack of tickets to Disney for the first five donations of $1,000 or more made before November 30, 2020. For more information see the Donors Go To Disney announcement.

Cash donations can be given via PayPal, checks made out to Classical Christian Academy, or in giving envelopes at the front desk of the school. Donations can be anonymous upon request, and are tax deductible, since CCA is a 501 c(3).

REFERRALS

Sometimes a voice is the greatest gift someone can give. By speaking out about the needs of our school, and referring donors to CCA – or giving CCA a contact to reach out to donors - our families can help give their school a voice to potential supporters in our community.

“Our goal is 100% CCA-family participation,” said McCard. “We’re looking forward to having a celebration - soon!”
