Teacher Tuesday: Essie Repke
The Repke Family
Mrs. Essie Repke is one of our wonderful Upper School teachers and CCA. She is a valued member of our team that makes our unique hybrid school so wonderful. Mrs. Repke grew up in a missionary family. Her father hailed from London, England and her mother grew up in Connecticut but Mrs. Repke called Papua, New Guinea her home as a child! She grew up learning about the love of Jesus and sharing that with love with others. She is so grateful for the experiences she had growing up in a unique culture and having a deep love for Jesus and the gospel. From a young age, Mrs. Repke knew that she wanted to be a teacher. She had seen first hand the impact that teaching others about Jesus has and she wanted to continue down that path. She attended missionary training to pursue her calling and met her husband Jim who was training to be a missionary as well.
Mrs. Repke realized that not only was she passionate about teaching, but she was passionate about teaching her three children, Karis, Aubree and Jesse. She homeschooled her children before hearing about CCA through some friends. “We were looking for a place for our two daughters to attend, and were very thankful for the good fit for them,” says Mrs. Repke. Her youngest son, Jesse joined the Connections Program at CCA and graduated from CCA in May of 2018. Mrs. Repke began teaching at CCA four years ago. Her ninth and tenth grade Spanish students enjoy learning a new language from a teacher with such an exceptional life story and a passion for teaching. We are so grateful for the gifts that Mrs. Repke brings to our CCA team and it wouldn’t be the same without her!
