CCA is a unique hybrid school in Southwest Florida and one of the things that we could not survive without are our teachers! We have so many wonderful teachers with so many gifts and talents and Mrs. Jessica Eastman is one of those wonderful teachers. This year is Mrs. Eastman’s 3rd year at CCA and she is teaching our blended third and fourth grade class this year.

Anyone who knows her well, knows that Mrs. Eastman loves all things Disney. Her favorite Disney park is the Magic Kingdom and she can’t leave unless she gets a reservation at Be Our Guest Restaurant. Mrs. Eastman and her husband of six years love to take their little daughter Annabelle and sit in the royal ballroom which looks like it’s straight out of the movie! Her favorite dish at Be Our Guest is the pulled pork, “It’s the best!” she says. Despite her love for Disney World, Mrs. Eastman didn’t grow up going to the parks like many Floridians. “My first Disney trip was when I was twenty years old.” She says. Mrs. Eastman grew up in Buffalo, New York and made her way to sunny Florida for college. She taught in the public school system for a few years before hearing about CCA from a friend. The blend of homeschooling and traditional schooling was appealing for her and her family, as it allowed her to still teach and be with her daughter throughout the week. Not only does she love teaching, but Mrs. Eastman also loves to dance! CCA was able to catch a glimpse of her dance instruction during the talent show in the spring of 2018.

This year, she is leading a dance elective and we are excited to see what the students will learn from her this year! When she’s not dancing or teaching, you’ll find Mrs. Eastman reading. Right now, she’s reading The Beloved Disciple by Beth Moore. “John is my favorite gospel!” she says. Mrs. Eastman’s life verse is James 1:19, “My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.”
