CCA's Wait Pool

Updated: Feb 9, 2023

So, you’ve toured our school and decided that you would like to partner with Classical Christian Academy for your child’s education. Then, you realized you’re not alone in this desire, and your student’s grade is full. As our school has grown, we created a Wait Pool. Every school handles this differently, so here are the details of how we work our program.

WHO IS IN THE WAIT POOL?

All new students are automatically added into the Wait Pool when they complet the Application Process, which includes paying the $50 non-refundable fee. This commitment tells us that these students and families are excited about joining our community.

WHAT GRADES HAVE A WAIT POOL?

We do not publish the Wait Pool because it is continuously changing. However, we do carefully track these details, and prospective families may call and inquire about the status of our class sizes.

APPLICATION DEADLINES

CCA’s Open Enrollment means families may apply to attend our school at any time. There are some cut-off dates within this process.

APPLY FOR THE CURRENT YEAR

AUGUST PAUSE In order to provide our students, families and staff with adequate support to start the school year, we pause our enrollment process for the month of August. We will not interview, conduct testing or start new students. (We appreciate your understanding. Next year, your family will benefit from having our undivided attention!)

DECEMBER 1

We accept applications for the current school year until December 1. Our long history of partnering with families shows new students are most successful when they join our school no later than the start of the second semester. Enrolling in November gives us the month of December to get pastoral references, conduct family interviews and new student testing, and time for you to acquire curriculum and supplies.

APPLY FOR A FUTURE YEAR

BEFORE FEBRUARY 28 If you apply before February 28 for a future school year, you will enroll into a Wait Pool for your chosen grade(s). Our current families get priority placement and this is their deadline to inform us of any changes to their enrollment plans for the next year. You will pay the non-refundable $50 application fee at this time. During the first week of March, we will notify you of your student’s placement opportunity.

AFTER MARCH 1

After March 1, we will be able to gauge enrollment for the next school year. We will let you know immediately if there is room for your student.

I’VE APPLIED, NOW WHAT? We reach out to all families after they complete an Application. We will notify you in those early communications what the space looks like for your current grade(s). Unfortunately, the next step is the hard part: waiting. Finally, we will email and call you if a spot becomes available. You will have 24 hours to respond, or your space may be released to the next person in the Wait Pool.

HOW DOES CCA PRIORITIZE ACCEPTANCE?

Current students who want to change programs and then siblings who wish to join CCA receive priority placement. For new families, the Wait Pool is prioritized by several factors, including the number of students in the family, the family's desire for full-day, half-day or Flex options, and our ability to place them. Because we teach Math and English on-level, this is not a straightforward placement process. We want to ensure we are able to meet the needs of our current and incoming students.

WHAT ARE THE CLASS SIZES?

Small class sizes are a blessing to our students - and teachers! Our average student/teacher ratio is:

Kinder-Prep 10/1

K-6th Grades: 14/1

7th-12th Grades: 16/1
