ATHLETIC ALTERNATIVES

As we grow, the Athletic Committee will continue to gauge the interest of our students. We look forward to offering more options that will enable high school student athletes to compete for CCA. If CCA doesn’t have a team for your age or sport, you still have options! Our Athletic Committee has researched the options our students have as registered students with CCA.

With each of the three options you need to do the research and make contact yourself. CCA is not affiliated with any of the organizations. If you need help or have questions, please contact us at info@discovercca.org.

1) Play on a public high school team.

As a registered CCA student in our Hybrid or Flex programs, you are eligible to play on a public high school team IF CCA is not offering the sport. You will register as a student of a private school that is not a member of the Florida High School Athletic Association. The following steps need to be completed before students are eligible to practice or compete.

You’ll need to complete this FHSAA form.

Students residing in Lee County need to contact the Lee County School Choice office at 239-337-8249 for student assignment deadlines and additional information. Students are also eligible to play for Division I, II or III schools in College.

2) Play for Lee County Home School

The Lee County Home School teams compete in the same league as CCA. At the high-school level LCHS currently offers boys flag football, girls volleyball, girls basketball and boys basketball. For more information, contact the LCHS.

3) Play in the Community

There are many recreational and competitive leagues in Lee County for various sports – including teams at the high school level. Here are a few in our community. Please note this is not a complete list.

4) Play on a Private School Team

Flex students may take a full-course load (or any number of classes they choose) at CCA and still maintain student registration elsewhere, which may make them eligible to play sports for public schools, homeschool groups AND other private schools. This is up to the other schools, but is a benefit of our Flex program.
